GULZAR

Aaj ka din gulzar hai koi Khushboo se ladaa, rangon mein sanaa Aur ek bhavra, gulon pe fanaa Lambe chalte raaston pe ik choti pagdandi  Abhr mein lipti, phisalti, khelne se gandi  Aur ek shaakh, pairo pe ruki  Fakhr se khadi, par sajde mein jhuki  Aaj ka din gulzar hai koi  Mila puraana yaar hai koi

IS THIS WHERE I WANT TO BE?

Hum poochhte rahe, rehguzar se manzil se pataa Bhatak to tab gaye, jab manzil ne pataa poochh liya

Sorry I Am Busy: Ode to my heart's unfulfilled desires

Bade dinon se ek khayaal aa raha hai, Door se, dhund mein, ladkhadaye. Magar hamari masrufiyat pe gaur farmaayein, Ki us tak uthkar hum hi jaa naa paaye.

OCEANARIA

Starry lamps, reflecting in your eyes In the moon-dust my body lies. You lead me to your secret bowers Of cobalt and turquoise-blue flowers. In every fall and swell, There are a million things to tell. But you sing to me in silence. You dance to me in silence. Our timeless conversations flow. Of truths and mysteries we know. You drift me away You ask me to surrender. You lead me deep You lead me far You lead me And I don't ask I simply follow. 14 Jan 2014

HELLO! ANYBODY HOME?

You stand out among colleagues and cut a fine impression. The kids are great at school, moving on with determination. Your files are in place, the food is too! The kids are learning guitar and some pottery too. Week to week, month to month, you all are mostly busy; I wonder if you ever get time to even look around for me. I talk to the plants when I water. I talk to the walls when I clean. The duster is my closest friend. And so is the sewing machine. But I wish they could talk back, perhaps hug me sometime. Wipe a tear or two – or just ask me if I am fine. No, I am not complaining, not saying quit things for me I have no one to share my heart with, that’s all I want you to see In your swanky corner office, when your shirt is looking fine I just want you to remember, that gentle hand was mine When you take a break, and enjoy a hearty meal My happy cook at 6am is all I want you to feel You see I am ok, doing what I do But a loving smile, and some warm words, is ...

DADDY VERSUS DAHEJ

Hamesha mere paas apni saheliyon se Ek odhni kam rahi Ek choodi kam rahi Bas dil mein khushi rahi Phir ek din dil khaali ho gaya Ab bahut der ho gai daddy! Ab kya karoon? Kahaan jaaoon? Yahaan meri jaan ki keemat nahin... Meri odhni ki keemat nahin, kuchh lal hai to paani hai Meri choodi ki keemat nahin, awaazein toofani hai Aapki pyaar bhari do baatein hain daddy, aur yaadein aani hain Magar chhoti abhi nahin samjhegi Ho sakey to, usey ek choodi aur dila dena Himmat karna, apni awaaz utha lena Us ghar na byaahna chhoti ko Ke jinki niyat dil se khoti ho Na keh dena daddy unko Kahin chhoti bhi aise door na chali jaaye To jab tak zinda hai, kyun na dard se khaali ho jaaye? This post is happy to be part of the ‘Men Say No’ Blogathon, an initiative by www.mustbol.in/team-blog. What’s this: 25 November to 10th December is the International 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence, an international campaign that was started in 1991. MORNING WALK

Aaj subah ek chidiya ko tehni se tehni jaate hue dekha Koodte hue, chechchehaate hue dekha Maano subah na hui, jalsa hua koi Ek din aur udne ka bahana hua koi Aaj ek chidiya ko nayi subah se nayi umeed lagaate dekha
